Tairāwhiti Gisborne (“TG”) is the marketing and promotional brand for the Tairāwhiti region.

The brand has been created by Trust Tairāwhiti (TT) which functions as both the Economic Development Agency (EDA) and Regional Tourism Office (RTO).

The TT organisational responsibilities include promoting the Tairāwhiti region including the Gisborne City area as a great place to “Work, Live and Play / Visit”.

About the Image Library

This online library is a collection of images of and about Tairāwhiti Gisborne. It storesand distributes assets free*, to be used (only) in the promotion of our region as a desirable work, live and play (visit) destination.

The Library has been set up by and is taken care of by Tairāwhiti Gisborne. The images have been provided by a range of talented photographers and partners and have been licensed by TG.

Our goal is to assist our partners, the media and regional business and tourism operators to communicate the Tairāwhiti Gisborne brand consistently across all channels, to ultimately increase value to our regional economy.

How to use the Image Library

The image library is easy to use.

  1. On your first visit you'll need to register as a user.
  2. You can search for specific images via 'tags' (or keywords) or view the whole collection. The key categories are Visit, Live and Do Business (work) and can be linked to from the home page.
  3. Once you have found the images that you want to use, click the Request button and complete the Request form. 
  4. Approval of your selected and requested images will occur within 24 hours. (Monday to Friday and 48 hours over weekends and public holidays). This is to ensure all projects align with the regional objectives and support the growth of Tairāwhiti.
  5. Once approved, you'll receive an email with a link to download the approved Assets.

Please remember:

  • By registering as a user of our image library you agree to abide by these Terms of use.
  • For each image used, attributing captions and credits to Tairāwhiti Gisborne, the relevant photographer and /or copyright holder is mandatory.
  • Users may be required to supply samples of published images to TG so that correct usage can be monitored, and to assess the effectiveness of our image distribution systems.
  • Incorrect labelling and/or failure to attribute an image appropriately will be viewed as a breach of these terms and conditions of use.

When using any of these images you are required to credit or attribute the image with:

  3. (3) New Zealand
  4. (4) The Credit name if provided
